My most trusted travelling companion is a teapot of my own creation used to brew up a taste of home wherever I go. On one particularly nostalgic night in the Mediterranean I concocted an ode to the honourable Earl Grey – a light Ceylon Orange Pekoe black tea mingled with a First Flush Darjeeling - the “champagne of teas” all rounded off with the finest Italian bergamot and Provencal cornflowers adding a refined twist for this most stylish of accompaniments to breakfast or afternoon tea.
